This will literally save lives. Truman Pierson + Christopher Fitz built a wearable device to track the brain and help predict an epilepsy seizure before it happens. So patients can get to a safe spot and family members notified. There are 10x more use cases from tracking brain data they can build towards. Super proud to have backed Truman + Chris in LeapYear 2024 as their first venture check. It’s still day 1 for Theta Neurotech P.s. they are building this in Chicago. When you have the right people, you can build incredible things anywhere.

💜 Exciting News from Theta Neurotech: Our Waitlist is Now Open! 💜 At Theta, we are on a mission to provide predictability to the unpredictable nature of seizures. We envision a future where the 1 in 100 people globally living with epilepsy have consistent early alerts of seizure occurrence, allowing for the prevention of injuries and targeted deployment of preventative medication. Theta is developing a non-invasive, near-invisible device for the prediction and early alert of epileptic seizures. Our device, applied for long-term wear on the scalp, detects very small changes in brain states that occur in the pre-seizure period. This detection allows us to provide patients and their caretakers of an early alert of their seizures, providing enough time to prevent dangerous incidents and *potentially* deploy seizure rescue medications.
